The Manzanita tree was considered the tree of wisdom with the possibility of new life and creativity and was the hallmark of ancient matriarchal societies. This beautiful tree was found in the lower hills of the Cascade range near Medford, Oregon.

Springtime in the Meadow
I think that everyone has their 'special places' and this meadow ringed by Aspen trees is one of mine. You can hear the open spaces in the meadow, sounds nearby or echoing from a long way off. The diversity of birdsong is quite extraordinary in the morning. When it subsides, the first whisperings of a breeze in the pines may be heard. This photocard takes me right back to it!
